Kingshot farm account guide header showing resource farming and transfer strategy

Farm accounts are not optional at TC 20+. Your main account's resource production plateaus while upgrade costs accelerate. A single farm account running optimally adds 30-50% more RSS to your weekly income. Two farms can nearly double it.

A farm account is a secondary Kingshot account dedicated to gathering resources and transferring them to your main account. It's the single highest-ROI time investment in the game — 10-15 minutes of daily management translates to millions of additional resources per week.

When to Start a Farm Account

Not everyone needs one immediately. Here's the decision framework:

Your TC LevelFarm Account?Why
TC 1-14❌ Not yetMain account production is sufficient
TC 15-17⚠️ Consider itCosts start outpacing production
TC 18-20✅ Start nowResource deficit becomes noticeable
TC 21-25✅ EssentialUpgrade costs require supplemental income
TC 26-30✅ Run 2+ farmsTruegold era demands maximum throughput

Start your farm at TC 18 — not later. It takes 2-3 weeks to get a farm account to useful productivity. Starting at TC 20 means you'll have a resource crisis BEFORE your farm can help. Start early.

Farm Account Setup: Step-by-Step

Day 1-3: Foundation

🏗️ Initial Farm Setup
  • Create your farm character: Kingshot lets you create two characters in one Kingdom, so use that second slot to build a farm account dedicated to gathering and sending resources to your main account.
    1. Tap your profile in the top-left corner of the screen.
    2. Click the settings button in the bottom-right corner.
    3. Go to the "Characters" tab.
    4. Hit "Create New Character" and choose the same state as your main account.
  • Naming Convention: Give your farm a clear name like [YourMainName]_Farm to avoid confusion or accidental attacks from allies.
  • Alliance Placement: Join your main's alliance sister/farm alliance protected by a NAP. Note: You cannot attack members of your own alliance, so the farm must leave the alliance temporarily or reside in a sister alliance to be raided.
  • VIP 6 Goal: Aim for VIP level 6 as quickly as possible to unlock a crucial extra gathering march queue. Avoid going higher, as higher VIP levels increase your protected warehouse limit.
  • Rush Town Center to TC 10 using beginner speedups (these are given freely). If you're still in your first week, follow the beginner progression path on your main and keep the farm much leaner.
  • Build production buildings — prioritize RSS and coin production over military
  • Do NOT invest in heroes — the farm's only job is gathering

Day 4-14: Growth Phase

📈 Growing Your Farm

Target: TC 15-17 within 2 weeks

Key Milestones:

  • TC 12: Full gathering march capacity
  • TC 15: Access to higher-level resource nodes
  • TC 17: Solid farm productivity — this is your minimum useful threshold

Research Priority for Farm Accounts:

  1. Gathering Speed — directly increases RSS/hour
  2. March Capacity — more troops per march = more RSS per trip
  3. March Count — unlock additional gathering marches
  4. Do NOT research combat technology (waste of resources)

How high should you upgrade TC? TC 17 is where a farm becomes genuinely useful — four gathering marches, decent node access, solid research foundation. Most casual farmers stop around here to keep things low-maintenance. That said, pushing to TC 22-25 allows you to upgrade your troop camps to unlock higher troop levels that significantly increase march capacity, so if you want to squeeze more out of a farm long-term, there's a real case for going further. The building priority guide is useful if you want a cleaner upgrade path. The farm's purpose isn't progression — it's production. But more TC means more production if you're willing to invest the time.

Gathering Hero Optimization

The heroes you assign to gathering marches directly affect how much you collect per trip.

Check your in-game hero skill screens for exact percentage bonuses — they vary by hero star level and skill upgrade rank.

Resource nodes in Kingshot go up to Level 8. Higher-level nodes (6–8) yield significantly more RSS per hour than lower-tier ones, but they require higher troop capacity to clear. Always send your highest-capacity marches to the highest-level nodes available.

Beasts as a Supplemental RSS Source

Gathering marches are the core income, but don't sleep on beasts. Once your farm has enough combat research to take on mid-level beasts, hunting them regularly adds a meaningful RSS bonus on top of your gathering output — especially for stone and iron, which pure gathering farms tend to be short on. It's worth unlocking the beast research tree on your farm if you're going to run it long-term; the daily routine guide shows where quick beast hits fit without turning the farm into a second main.

Core Resource Farming & Gathering Strategies

To maximize the resources your farm account (and your main account) generates, follow these core production and gathering strategies:

1. Maximizing Resource Buildings

Your farm's passive resource generation depends on your Bread, Wood, . To get the best yields:

  • Keep Upgrading: Regularly level up these buildings to increase their base hourly output and unlock more worker slots.
  • Fill Worker Slots: Ensure all worker spots are occupied. If you lack citizens, upgrade your Houses to raise resident capacity — more residents means more workers assigned to resource buildings.
  • Keep Contentment (Mood) High: Citizen mood directly impacts production efficiency. Keep it up by upgrading your Houses, maintaining your Kitchen (food fullness for residents), and completing Daily Quests. If mood drops, production slows.
  • Collect City Production Regularly: Resources accumulate in your production buildings over time and need to be manually claimed. Log in at least once or twice a day to collect and redeploy — don't let buildings sit full and idle.

Try to upgrade your resource buildings evenly to avoid bottlenecks, since most building and research upgrades require a balanced mix of resources.

2. Mastering World Map Gathering

Gathering from resource nodes on the State map is the primary way your farm stockpiles massive amounts of resources.

  • Filter and Pick the Best Nodes: Open the World map and search for high-level resource nodes. Levels 6–8 yield the most but require higher troop capacity to clear efficiently. Higher-level nodes are typically found in Plains and Fertile Lands regions — use the map filter to find untouched ones.
  • Maximize Troop Load: The total resources a march can carry depends on troop Load stats. Train and promote your troops to higher tiers over time — each tier carries more per march, which directly increases your RSS-per-trip. Upgrade your march size through hero levels and Economy Tech research in the Academy.
  • Send Full Marches: Make sure you are sending enough troops to fully clear a node per trip. Under-filled marches leave resources on the tile.
  • Leverage the Bison Pet: Unlock the Bison pet and use its Grip of the Titan skill to instantly complete a gathering expedition. At base level the cooldown is around 1.5 days; at max level it drops to ~15 hours. Use it on the highest-level node available. See the pet guide before investing pet materials on a farm.
  • Maintain Gathering Uptime: Keep your marches busy gathering whenever you are offline. Leave one march slot open if you need to auto-join alliance rallies, but make sure the others are always out.

3. Leveraging Alliance Benefits

Being in an active, protected alliance provides major farming boosts:

  • Alliance Territory Gathering: Park your city inside your alliance's territory boundaries. This increases your gathering speed by 50–100% depending on your alliance's level and research — one of the biggest passive boosts available. The alliance territory guide covers placement and banner logic in more detail.
  • Alliance Resource Nodes: Alliances can claim resource nodes on the world map by expanding territory with Banners until the node is at least 75% covered. Once claimed, multiple members can gather from these nodes safely without danger of attack — extremely useful during the All Out Event or other active Kill Events.
  • Alliance Help: Use the "Alliance Help" hand-shake icon to reduce building and research timers by 1 minute per assist, indirectly saving resources and speeding up your farm's progression.

4. Maximizing Event Rewards

Events provide crates and tokens that can be hoarded in your backpack (safe from raids):

  • Daily Quests: Complete your farm's daily quests every day — the accumulated speedups, gems, and resource rewards matter more than they look, especially for KvK points.
  • Bear Hunt / Bear Trap: Participate in your farm's alliance Bear Hunt rallies. The resource rewards are substantial and scale with your alliance's damage output. This alone can add tens of millions of RSS per week.
  • Eternity's Reach: Kingshot's competitive gathering event. Resource tokens earned here go straight to your backpack and can be opened on your farm before a plunder raid for a big one-time injection. Use the Eternity's Reach guide to time gather-heavy pushes.

5. The Secret Value of Farms: KvK Impact

Beyond daily resource generation, farms provide massive strategic advantages during Kingdom vs Kingdom (KvK) events:

  • KvK Prep Points: By doing daily tasks and hoarding speedups, gear materials, and items on your farm for months, you can "dump" them all during KvK Prep Phase. This scores massive points for your server without costing your main account anything.
  • Castle Battle Resource Bank: When your main account burns through billions of resources healing troops during intense Castle Battle fighting, your farm's hoarded RSS acts as a crucial safety net to keep you in the battle.
  • Strategic Kills & Recovery: If you are F2P and don't want to decimate your main army for kill points, you can use your farm troops strategically. Additionally, sending your farm's troops out to be killed can generate easy KvK recovery tokens for your alliance.

6. Research & Tech Upgrades

Keep your Research Center (Academy) active:

  • Economy Tab: Prioritize gathering speed research. Higher tiers can increase gathering speeds significantly.
  • Growth Tab: Focus on troop Load and March Size upgrades so each march can carry more resources back to your city.
  • Gathering Buffs: If you need a temporary boost, spend gems on 8-hour or 24-hour gathering speed buffs from the City Bonus menu.

Resource Transfer: How It Actually Works

The Storehouse Rule — Do This First

Do NOT upgrade your farm's storehouse. Keep it at level 1. This is the single most important farm account rule and most new players miss it entirely.

Here's why: resources above your storehouse capacity are unprotected — meaning they can be looted by anyone who attacks your farm. That sounds like a bad thing, but it's actually the entire point. You want your gathered resources to be unprotected so your main account can raid your farm and steal them all. If you upgrade the storehouse, you protect your resources from yourself.

How to Actually Transfer Resources

📦 The Raid Transfer Method

This is the real transfer mechanic — not alliance help, not a trade menu:

  1. Alliance check: Ensure your main account and your farm account are NOT in the same alliance (you must temporarily leave the alliance on your farm account to raid it, or keep the farm in a separate sister/farm alliance).
  2. On your farm account: Send all your troops out to gathering marches so your city is empty.
  3. Switch to your main account: Teleport near your farm (or use a saved teleport).
  4. Attack your farm's Town Center with your main — multiple times if needed.
  5. Your main loots all the unprotected resources accumulated above the storehouse cap.
  6. Switch back to your farm: Re-join the alliance (if you left) and re-deploy troops to gathering marches immediately.

The troops being out on marches is critical — if they're sitting in your city when your main attacks, they'll fight back and your main takes unnecessary losses. Always send them out first.

Keep the storehouse at level 1. Your farm will generate far more RSS than its storehouse can protect, and that overflow is exactly what you're raiding. The only resources you want protected are what the farm needs to sustain its own upgrades and troop training. For your main account, use the opposite logic from the resource protection guide.

Daily Transfer Budget Calculation

💰 Daily Transfer Math (TC 17 Farm)

The exact amounts depend heavily on your farm's TC level, research depth, and gathering bonuses. Here's a framework to estimate:

  1. Check your farm's daily resource building production (shown in the building tooltip)
  2. Calculate gathering throughput (see RSS/Hour formula above) and multiply by 24h
  3. Subtract minimal maintenance costs (troop training to keep marches filled)
  4. The rest is raidable by your main account

Most TC 17 farms generate 2-5M total RSS per day across all resource types when optimized with 4 gathering marches and gathering heroes assigned.

Transfer Timing Strategy

TimeActionWhy
MorningRecall gathering marches → send troops out → raid farm with mainCollected overnight
MiddayRe-deploy gathering marches on farmMaximize node uptime
EveningRaid again if farm is near overflowPrevent overnight vulnerability

Farm Account Daily Routine (10 Minutes)

Minimize time spent on your farm — it's a support tool, not a second main account:

⏰ Farm Daily Checklist (10 min)
  1. Collect resource buildings (30 seconds)
  2. Send farm troops to gathering marches to empty the city (30 seconds)
  3. Switch to main, raid the farm's TC (leave the farm alliance temporarily if both accounts are in the same alliance) to loot the accumulated RSS (1-2 minutes)
  4. Switch back to farm, re-deploy 4 gathering marches to highest-level nodes (re-join the alliance if you had to leave) (2 minutes)
  5. Queue troop training if march capacity is low (1 minute)
  6. Claim daily quests and events — do all of them, the accumulated rewards matter (2 minutes)
  7. Kill a beast if one is available — another free RSS injection (1 minute)
  8. Log out — done.

What NOT to do on your farm:

  • ❌ Invest in premium hero shards
  • ❌ Participate in PvP events (keeps you off the radar)
  • ❌ Level up heroes beyond the minimum for gathering skills
  • ❌ Spend gems on anything except renting the second builder (if early/rushing); use the gem spending guide for the main-account version of that rule.
  • ❌ Upgrade your storehouse — this defeats the entire transfer mechanic

Scaling Up: Multi-Farm Strategy

When one farm isn't enough — and at TC 24+, it often isn't.

When to Add a Second Farm

SignalWhat It Means
You're consistently resource-starved for TC upgradesOne farm can't keep up
Your TC hits 24+ and costs doubleIncome must increase proportionally
You have 10 additional minutes per day to spareThe time investment is worth it

Multi-Farm Efficiency

📊 Multi-Farm Income Scaling
SetupRelative RSS GainDaily Time Investment
Main onlyBaseline (100%)0 min (it's your main)
Main + 1 Farm+35–45% more daily RSS+10 min/day
Main + 2 Farms+65–80% more daily RSS+18 min/day
Main + 3 Farms+90–110% more daily RSS+25 min/day

Diminishing returns set in at 3+ farms due to node competition and time cost.

Absolute numbers depend entirely on your main account's production rate and the farm TC levels. The percentage boosts above are consistent regardless of your account size.

Multi-Farm Specialization

With 2+ farms, specialize each one:

FarmFocus ResourceBuilding PriorityGathering Target
Farm 1Food + WoodMax farms + lumber millsLevel 5 food/wood nodes
Farm 2Stone + IronMax quarries + minesLevel 5 stone/iron nodes

This produces a balanced resource flow instead of surplus food and deficit iron (the most common imbalance).

Farm Account Security

Your farm is designed to have unprotected resources — that's the whole point. But that also means it's a target for enemies. Here's how to manage it:

Basic Protection Measures

  1. Stay in a protected alliance — ideally your main's alliance, or a farm alliance under a NAP agreement
  2. Raid your farm before it overflows — the less unprotected RSS sitting there, the less anyone can steal
  3. Relocate near your main or alliance center — the proximity also saves on teleport costs when raiding
  4. Shield during KvK — farms are easy kill points for enemies. Shield proactively, not reactively
  5. Keep troops in gathering marches — troops on marches can't be killed in your city. This doubles as security
  6. Upgrade the Barricade to level 3+ — this ensures the farm city can survive multiple plunder hits from your main without burning down and being randomly teleported across the map. Remember to repair the barricade after plundering it.

The "Invisible Farm" Strategy

The less threatening your farm looks, the less anyone will bother hitting it:

  • Keep power low — don't build unnecessary buildings or train troops beyond gathering needs
  • Don't join rallies or PvP events from the farm account (this is what puts you on people's radar)
  • Avoid upgrading walls or military buildings that signal an active fighter account
  • Position away from kingdom borders — the further from frontlines, the less traffic you see during KvK

Farm vs. No Farm: The Progression Gap

Here's the concrete impact over time:

📈 3-Month Comparison: Farm vs No Farm
MetricNo Farm (Main Only)With 1 FarmDifference
Total RSS earned (3 months)Baseline~35-45% moreSignificant
TC level reachedBase progression+1-2 TC levels fasterNoticeable
Time spent (total 3 months)0 hours~15 hours5 min/day avg
Time saved on progression~2-3 weeks aheadSignificant

Bottom line: 15 total hours of farm management over 3 months saves you 2-3 weeks of progression time. The ROI is overwhelming.
