Golden Rule: Town Center is king. Everything else exists to support Town Center progression. Prioritize buildings that unlock Town Center upgrades, then buildings that accelerate progression (Academy, Barracks, Hospital), then everything else.

Buildings form the foundation of your Kingshot kingdom. Smart construction order can accelerate your progression by months compared to random building. This guide covers optimal building priorities, dependencies, and strategies for efficient construction management.

Building Priority Overview

Core Construction Philosophy

Priority Tiers:

  1. Town Center (blocks everything else)
  2. Prerequisite Buildings (required for Town Center upgrades)
  3. Power Multipliers (Academy, Hospital, Wall)
  4. Economic Buildings (Barracks, resource production)
  5. Cosmetic Buildings (Embassy, Scout Camp)

Why This Order: Town Center determines your power ceiling. Prerequisites unlock Town Center. Power multipliers compound over time. Economic buildings support operations. Cosmetic buildings provide minimal value.

S-Tier Buildings (Always Prioritize)

Town Center

Priority: Absolute #1

Why It Matters:

  • Unlocks new building levels
  • Unlocks new troop tiers
  • Unlocks research capabilities
  • Gates all progression

Strategy: Always keep Town Center upgrading. The moment one TC upgrade finishes, immediately start the next one (assuming you have prerequisites).

Upgrade Requirements: Each Town Center level requires specific buildings at specific levels:

  • TC 10: Wall 10, Academy 9, Barracks 9
  • TC 15: Wall 15, Academy 14, Hospital 14
  • TC 20: Wall 20, Academy 19, All military buildings 19
  • TC 25: Wall 25, Academy 24, Hospital 24
  • TC 30: Wall 30, Academy 29, All core buildings 29

Never Let TC Idle: Every hour your Town Center isn't upgrading is wasted progression time. Always work toward the next TC level.

A-Tier Buildings (High Value)

Wall

Priority: High (Required for every TC upgrade)

Why It Matters:

  • Mandatory prerequisite for ALL Town Center upgrades
  • Provides defensive bonuses when attacked
  • Must always equal Town Center level
  • Non-negotiable progression gate

Strategy: Wall must match your Town Center level to progress. If TC is 20, Wall must be 20 before you can upgrade to TC 21.

Defensive Value:

  • Increases troop defense when you're attacked in your castle
  • Higher wall = harder to zero
  • Essential for castle defense during KvK

Upgrade Pattern: Upgrade Wall immediately after Town Center completes. This keeps you ready for the next TC upgrade cycle.

Military Buildings (Barracks, Range, Stable)

Priority: High (Required for TC, enables troop training)

Why They Matter:

  • Required for Town Center upgrades at higher levels
  • Unlock higher troop tiers
  • Enable simultaneous troop training
  • Multiple buildings = multiple training queues

Strategy: Build multiple copies of each military building:

  • 4x Barracks (Infantry)
  • 4x Range (Archers)
  • 4x Stable (Cavalry)

Upgrade Pattern: Keep all military buildings at similar levels. Prioritize the troop types you use most:

  • Archer focus → Prioritize Range
  • Balanced army → Keep all equal

Training Efficiency: More buildings = more simultaneous training queues = faster army building.

B-Tier Buildings (Moderate Value)

Resource Production Buildings

Buildings:

  • Mill (Bread production)
  • Sawmill (Wood production)
  • Quarry (Stone production)
  • Iron Mine (Iron production)

Priority: Moderate (Required for some TC upgrades)

Why Lower Priority:

  • Passive production is minimal compared to gathering
  • Gathering provides 10-100x more resources than production
  • Only upgrade when required for Town Center

When to Upgrade:

  • When explicitly required for Town Center prerequisite
  • When you have excess resources and no higher priorities
  • During kingdom construction buffs for efficiency

How Many to Build:

  • Build minimum required for Town Center prerequisites
  • Focus on one or two resource types
  • Don't waste build slots on maxing all resource buildings

Resource Reality: A single gathering march yields more resources than 24 hours of building production. Prioritize gathering research over building upgrades.

C-Tier Buildings (Low Priority)

Command Center

Priority: Low (Only for rally leaders)

Purpose:

  • Enables you to start rallies
  • Determines rally capacity (how many can join)
  • Required for organizing large attacks

Who Needs It:

  • Rally leaders in your alliance (top 10-15 players)
  • Event coordinators
  • Alliance leadership

Who Can Skip It:

  • Average alliance members
  • Players who only join rallies (don't lead)
  • F2P players not leading rally attacks

Upgrade Priority: Only upgrade if you're regularly leading rallies for Bear Hunt, structure attacks, or KvK coordination. Otherwise, skip entirely.

Embassy

Priority: Very Low (Minor reinforcement benefits)

Purpose:

  • Allows allies to station troops in your castle
  • Increases reinforcement capacity
  • Provides minor defensive support

When to Upgrade:

  • When explicitly required for Town Center
  • During idle construction periods with nothing better to do
  • If you're frequently targeted and need garrison support

Reality Check: Most players will never use Embassy functionality. It's a cosmetic building that rarely impacts gameplay. Lowest priority.

Scout Camp

Priority: Very Low (Limited scouting utility)

Purpose:

  • Enables scouting enemy castles
  • Shows enemy power and troop counts
  • Provides intelligence before attacks

When to Upgrade:

  • When required for Town Center prerequisites
  • If you're actively scouting for rally coordination
  • During completely idle construction periods

Practical Use: Scouting is useful for coordinating rallies, but most players rely on stronger alliance members to scout. Low individual value.

Construction Strategies

Second Construction Queue

Is Second Queue Worth It?

Cost: 2,500 gems for 3 days, or permanent unlock (varies)

Value Calculation:

  • Doubles building efficiency
  • Saves weeks over long-term progression
  • Essential for active players

When to Buy:

  • Town Center 15+ upgrades (long duration projects)
  • During major building push phases
  • When working toward important power milestones

F2P Recommendation: Buy temporary 3-day version during Town Center 20+ upgrades. Worth the gem investment for the time saved.

Verdict: 9/10 value for active players pushing progression

Active vs Passive Construction

When You're Playing

Strategy:

  • Queue short duration builds (1-4 hours)
  • Use speedups to finish quickly
  • Immediately start next build
  • Focus on prerequisite buildings for TC

Goal: Maximize throughput while online. Get through lower-level buildings quickly to reach Town Center prerequisites.

Resource Management: Keep resources ready for continuous construction. Gather actively to maintain stockpiles.

Optimal Construction Order by Town Center Level

TC 1-10 (Early Game)

Focus: Rush Town Center levels quickly

Priority Order:

  1. Town Center (always upgrading)
  2. Wall (keep equal to TC)
  3. Academy (one level behind TC)
  4. Barracks/Range (build 2-3 of each)
  5. Resource buildings (only as required)

Strategy: Speed through early Town Center levels as fast as possible. Don't waste time perfecting builds at low levels.

Speedup Usage: Save speedups for events. Don't use them at early Town Center levels unless pushing for specific unlock.

TC 11-20 (Mid Game)

Focus: Balanced progression toward TC 20

Priority Order:

  1. Town Center (always upgrading)
  2. Wall (keep equal to TC)
  3. Academy (one level behind TC)
  4. Hospital (one level behind TC)
  5. Military buildings (4x each type)
  6. Resource/Storage (only as required)

Strategy: Maintain consistent upgrade cycle: TC → Wall → Academy → Hospital → Military → repeat.

Research Balance: Keep Academy research active 24/7. Construction upgrades support research progression.

TC 21-30 (Late Game)

Focus: Long-term power building

Priority Order:

  1. Town Center (always upgrading, 15+ day timers)
  2. Wall (keep equal to TC)
  3. Academy (critical for War Academy research)
  4. Hospital (maximize wounded capacity)
  5. Military buildings (all to max for highest troop tiers)
  6. Everything else (only as TC prerequisites)

Strategy: Upgrades take weeks at this level. Use second construction queue. Save speedups for events.

Patience Required: TC 25-30 upgrades can take 20-40 days each. This is normal. Focus on research and troop building during long construction timers.

Resource Management for Construction

Construction Resource Strategy

Resource Requirements: Higher Town Center levels require massive resources:

  • TC 20: Millions of each resource
  • TC 25: Tens of millions
  • TC 30: Hundreds of millions

Gathering Priority:

  • Focus gathering on bottleneck resources
  • Check next TC requirements before gathering
  • Join alliance gathering events

Resource Protection:

  • Keep excess resources in backpack (protected)
  • Only open resource packs when ready to build
  • Use shields during offline periods if holding large stockpiles

Timing Builds: Don't start expensive builds if you can't maintain construction. Wasting build queue time is worse than waiting for resources.

Common Construction Mistakes

Avoid These Errors:

  • Upgrading resource buildings before military buildings
  • Building Embassy and Scout Camp when they're not required
  • Letting construction queues sit idle
  • Wasting speedups on low-level buildings (save for events)
  • Building only one of each military building (need multiples)
  • Ignoring Wall upgrades (blocks Town Center)
  • Upgrading cosmetic buildings before prerequisites
  • Starting builds without sufficient resources (wastes queue time)
  • Forgetting to request alliance help (reduces build time)

Alliance Help Optimization

Maximizing Alliance Help

How It Works:

  • Request help for construction and research
  • Each help request reduces timer
  • Active alliances provide massive time savings

Strategy:

  • Always request help immediately when starting builds
  • Join active alliances (40+ members helping regularly)
  • Help alliance members (builds reciprocity)

Time Savings: In an active alliance, help requests can reduce 10-day builds by 1-2 days. This compounds over hundreds of buildings.

F2P Value: Alliance help is completely free. Never skip requesting help. It's one of the best F2P accelerators in the game.

Building Priority by Player Type

F2P Building Strategy

Core Philosophy: Maximize efficiency through strict prioritization. Every resource matters.

Priority Focus:

  1. Town Center (never idle)
  2. Academy (enables power research)
  3. Hospital (saves resources by preventing troop deaths)
  4. Wall (mandatory prerequisite)
  5. Military buildings (only as required)
  6. Everything else (only when forced)

Resource Management:

  • Gather actively (primary resource source)
  • Join alliance gathering events
  • Protect resources in backpack
  • Time builds around gathering capacity

Speedup Discipline: Save ALL speedups for Hall of Governors, KvK, and Strongest Governor events. Never use speedups casually on construction.

F2P Reality: You'll progress 2-3x slower than spenders, but you'll get there. Strict building priorities and speedup management close the gap.

Final Thoughts

Building priority in Kingshot follows a clear hierarchy: Town Center first, prerequisite buildings second (Academy, Hospital, Wall), military buildings third, everything else last. Keep Town Center upgrading continuously, maintain Academy and Hospital one level behind your target TC, and never let construction queues sit idle.

Key Takeaways:

  1. Town Center is #1 priority (blocks all progression)
  2. Academy and Hospital are #2 and #3 (required for TC, provide lasting value)
  3. Wall must equal Town Center level to progress
  4. Build 4x copies of each military building for training efficiency
  5. Resource buildings provide minimal value (gathering is better)
  6. Embassy and Scout Camp are lowest priority (cosmetic)
  7. Second construction queue worth buying for active players
  8. Always request alliance help (free time reduction)
  9. Save speedups for events (2-3x better value)
  10. F2P players should strictly prioritize TC → Academy → Hospital → Wall
