Your server age determines almost everything in Kingshot that isn't under your direct control. Hero generations, the War Academy, Truegold milestones, pet unlocks โ none of that follows your Town Center level or how much you've spent. It's all tied to how old your kingdom is.

Why the Timeline Matters for Planning
The two moments that catch players most off-guard are Generation drops and the War Academy unlock.
Hero generation windows are the most important ones to plan around. If you know Gen 4 arrives around day 190โ200, you can start stockpiling gems and shards weeks in advance instead of scrambling after the banner drops with nothing saved. Every generation brings a meaningful stat increase โ Gen 5 heroes, for example, carry roughly 444% base Attack/Defense scaling compared to Gen 1. That gap is real, and the resource cost to catch up if you've already spent everything is real too.
The War Academy at day 220 is the other major one. It unlocks T11 troops (Truegold Infantry, Cavalry, Archers) through a research path that requires a new material called Truegold Dust. It also requires Town Center Level 30 or higher to build. This is the single most resource-intensive unlock in the game โ a single level of Truegold Infantry research costs tens of millions of each resource type. How to Calculate Your Server Age
There's no in-game display for your state age, but two methods get you close.
Method 1: VIP Login Days
Open your VIP tab and check your consecutive login count. If you joined on the server's launch day and haven't missed a single login, that number is approximately your server's age. It's the easiest estimate โ most players start on day one, so it's usually within a few days of accurate.
It breaks down if you've had any login gaps, obviously. If you took a week off somewhere, your login count will be lower than the actual server age.
Method 2: Beast Hunting Achievement
This one's more reliable if you've had login gaps, and it works on any account regardless of when you joined.
- Go to your Monument โ it's in the center of the Outer City, or you can reach it through the Events page
- Find the achievement called "Beast Hunting" (third from the top)
- Check its completion date
- Subtract 6 days

Focus on base building, joining an active alliance, and establishing your gathering routine. The Gen 2 hero window around day 40โ50 is your first real resource decision โ decide now if you're saving for Gen 2 pulls or waiting for Gen 3. The Castle Battle on day 54 is also your first exposure to serious PvP, so make sure your garrison is set up by then.
Truegold unlocks at day 70 and Gen 3 pets (including Lion) hit around day 105โ110. Gen 3 heroes follow shortly after at day 105โ120. The Kingdom of Power event also opens in this window (day 70โ80), which is your first competitive kingdom-level event. Start hoarding gems for Gen 3 hero banners from around day 80 onward.
Gen 4 and the War Academy define this phase. The War Academy at day 220 is the single most resource-hungry unlock in the game โ stockpile resources and Truegold Dust well before it arrives. Gen 5 at day 270โ280 raises the hero power ceiling significantly. Tempered Truegold unlocks around day 310โ320 and adds another layer of troop progression on top.
